Support the mission
Keep one guitar moving.
Every gift, no matter the size, keeps a single instrument traveling through classrooms, kitchens, and community stages.
Donations are processed securely by our external partner platform.
Why give
A gift toward music education, one guitar at a time.
Mama Jo's Traveling Guitar is funded almost entirely by people who believe a shared instrument can carry a lot of good. Your support pays for strings, safe transport, and the classroom visits that make the story real.
Where your support goes
Every dollar earns its keep.
We keep the budget close to the road. Here's what a contribution actually pays for.
- $25
A fresh set of strings
Enough to re-string the traveling guitar so the next keeper opens the case to something that plays like new.
- $150
Safe transport to the next keeper
Covers packing, insured shipping, and the hand-off logistics that keep the guitar moving.
- $500
A classroom visit, door to door
Funds a full school or community stop — travel, instruments, and the volunteers who make it happen.
- $2,500
A month on the road
Underwrites an entire stretch of the campaign, from one keeper's hands to the next.
Impact through giving
The measurable side of a quiet mission.
Contributions turn into strings, stops, and the students who get to play. These are the numbers behind the story.

Trust, in plain language
How we handle what you give.
Transparency
We publish every campaign's outcomes on the Impact page and keep a running record of the road in the Journey. What comes in is spent on the guitar and the people who carry it.
Stewardship
Donations are processed by our external partner platform so we never store your payment information. Contributions to Mama Jo's Traveling Guitar are held for the mission and reviewed by the project's stewards.
Mission alignment
No aggressive fundraising, no data resale. The ask stays quiet on purpose — the story is what matters.

Frequently asked
Questions we hear a lot.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
If the campaign is running through a fiscal sponsor or nonprofit partner in a given year, we'll say so on this page and on the giving platform receipt. If you need a written acknowledgment, email us and we'll take care of it.How is my money actually used?
Contributions fund the guitar itself, strings and repairs, safe transport between keepers, and the community stops along the way. Anything left after the campaign closes rolls into the next year's guitar. Can I give monthly instead of one-time?
Yes. Recurring gifts are the steadiest way to keep the guitar moving. Choose the monthly option on the giving page and you can pause or change it at any time from the platform.Do you accept corporate or foundation support?
We do. Reach out and we'll share a short brief on the current campaign, the reach so far, and how a partnership could be recognized without turning the project into an advertisement. How do I know the money is being stewarded well?
Every campaign's outcomes are posted on the Impact page and every stop is logged in the Journey. If you ever want more detail, ask — we'll answer.
